Oral Histories and Transcriptions

Updated: Jul 2, 2019

One of the joys of working on this project is our many discussions with stakeholders, including alumni, retired college employees, and other stakeholders in the archives. We've made a point of recording our conversations (with permission, of course) for both our own recollection and for the fantastic contributions they will make to the archive's oral history collection.

The collection contains nearly 200 oral histories and biographies of BHS alumni sent to the archives and collected during reunions. Our additions will give new perspectives on the school and the alumni activities. I've transcribed most of our recordings now. We're recommending that the next archivists to work on the collection obtain releases so that we can make the new histories available to researchers visiting the archives.
